Neck Rash


The sign of rashes occurring on your neck are termed as neck rash. Neck rash can happen due to many different reasons including diseases and drug side effects. Some of them are as under:

Acne – it is a common skin trouble that often instigate in adolescence. When your face or neck gets small pimples or pus-filled sacs, sore or blackheads, then it is an indication of acne.

Boil- it generally occurs due to skin infection, which creates a painful red bump on the skin. Many a times even a cluster of such bumps is formed which is called Carbuncle.

Rosacea- a skin disease caused more often in adults in which blood vessels of the face expand resulting in a flushed appearance with reddishness around the cheeks, forehead, nose or chin.

Measles- it is a virus infection that most commonly affects children. It is marked by the red rashes, which start from forehead and face, and then gradually stretches to the neck and downwards. It also causes sore throat and fever.

Psoriasis- a skin disease exemplified by dry red patches enclosed with scales. It is generally caused due to overproduction of cells.

Lupus- it is a kind of ulcerative skin disease. It causes numerous effects on different organs and linings. If you see butterfly rashes on your cheeks and forehead along with the pain in joints, then the possibility is that you are suffering from lupus.

Hives- it is an itchy skin rash disease often marked by weal and red margins. It is caused due to an allergic reaction to infection, drugs, medicine or insect bite. You will notice fat bumps gradually emerging on the face and body.

Dermatitis Herpetiformis- it is a skin rash allied with sensitivity towards gluten (a protein substance found commonly in cereal grains like wheat and corn.) the disease causes itchy rashes along with blisters and red bumps.

Ringworm – it is a fungal infection of nails and skin appearing as round patches. It leads to itchy ring like spots on neck and other parts of the body. The disease is most common in children.

Scabies- it is a contagious infection of skin sourced by itch mite and is often characterized by skin irritation and continuous itching.

Impetigo- it is an acute contagious skin problem marked by the redness that turns into small blisters, which slowly and steadily crust and corrode. The rashes start developing from face and neck and then spread to other parts. This skin problem is most frequent in children.

Whatever remains the cause for neck rash, it is always better to consult a doctor for the same. Do not take any medicine or treat it on your own without knowledge as it may lead to any allergic reaction or side effects.
