Stevens Johnsons Syndrome
Stevens Johnsons Syndrome is a dangerous problem of the skin.
In this disease mucous membrane lesions are involved.
They may occur in red color, thick and flat patches on the skin.
It is also develop by OTC medications such as Bextra and allergic reaction to medicines such as tetracycline, antibiotics and amoxicillin.
Stevens Johnsons Syndrome affects men, women and children all. The skin rash of Stevens Johnsons Syndrome consists vesicles, papules and bullae.
Causes:
The main cause of Stevens Johnsons Syndrome is allergic reactions to drugs such as pencillins, sulfas, lamotrigine, valdecoxib, and phenytoin.
This disease is also caused by the infection of HSV, cat-scratch fever or histoplasmosis.

Symptoms:
- Flu like fever and headache.
- Sore throat
- Blisters, papules, or plaques.
- Lesions are in red color or swelling
- Some blisters in eyes, nose, mouth or genital area
- Rashes and red eyes
Diagnosis of Stevens Johnsons Syndrome
Health care providers will be performed physical examination of the affected area to diagnose the disease. Sometimes the doctors for testing under a microscope take a small sample of affected area. Diagnose of this skin disorder depends on the medical history and signs and symptoms of SJS.
Treatment:
Avoid medications that cause this skin disease. Complete care is very effective and in starting treatment of Stevens Johnsons Syndrome is just like burns. Cyclosporine and cyclophosphamide can be used to reduce Stevens Johnsons Syndrome.
Use of antiseptics and anesthetics may help in treatment of SJS. One should maintain warm atmosphere around oneself. If a patient who has infection in his eyes, go to an ophthalmologist as soon as possible.

- Topical anesthetics
- Antibiotics in case of having infection
- Nutritional supplement and fluid
- Painkillers
- Corticosteroids or other certain drugs
